 Urgent Repair

 Four-County Community Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that we

 are taking Urgent Repair Program applications at the Whiteville

 Neighborhood Service Center, located in 425 S. Lee Street, Whiteville,

 NC 28472 and at the Scotland Neighborhood Service Center, located in 

 The State Bank Building on the corner of Cronly and South Main

 Streets.  (Please use the Cronly Street entrance; applications are being

 taken on the first floor in the CSBG office.).   Homeowners DO NOT

 match or repay any of the funds.

 To be eligible for this project, applicants must be facing threats to life and/or safety in the very 

 near future and/or who will be displaced if the house is not made handicapped accessible. 

 Applicants must also meet the following guidelines:

 1.  reside in Scotland or Columbus County, AND

 2.   own and occupy the house in need of repair, AND

      have a household income that is not more than 50% of the median income that county

    AND have a special need, defined as follows:

         a.      elderly (at least 62 years old), or

         b.      a single parent with at least one dependent child living at home, or

         c.      handicapped or disabled, or

         d.      a large family with at least 5 members in the household, or

         e.      have a child 5-years or YOUNGER with medically diagnosed elevated blood lead levels

        AND have urgent repair needs which cannot be met through other state or federally

     funded housing programs.
